There are many polar differences between Emily & Nathan. One is short, the other tall. One is a gal, the other a guy. One is introverted, one is extroverted. One eats leaves, the other eats beasts. And so on and so on, etc etc etc. This performance of Look At All the Opposites, a ‘muppety’ song from our limited release “Home & Alone”, explores the joys of juxtaposing opposites. Enjoy!
Black Hatted EP: Release Parties and Pre-Release News!
In celebration of the release of their new EP, Black Hatted, the band will be headlining two shows
in Metro Detroit. The first concert is Friday, April 27th from 7 to 9PM at The Coffee Beanery
located at 28557 Woodward Ave in Berkley, MI. The second show is scheduled for Sunday, April
29th from 8-9:30pm at Christ Church Cranbrook located at 470 Church Road in Bloomfield Hills,
MI. This gothic cathedral has been used recently as a set location in George Clooney’s “Ides of
March.” Both shows are all ages and free admission.
From LA to Nashville to Detroit, the band brought in guest artists from across the country to
season Black Hatted's tracks with diverse harmonies, swelling orchestrations, spaghetti western
riffs and even bellowing tones from a cathedral organ. Nashville producer, Mike Odmark mixed
and mastered the album at Jars of Clay-owned studio, Gray Matters. The band is currently taking
preorders for their new album at:www.ataverage.bandcamp.com.
Hey dude, where does the music come from?
Follow the creative process this month as the band members frantically crank out new music for FAWM (Febraury Album Writing Month).
The goal is to write 14 songs in one month (but 14.5 because its a leap year). Emily has been a consistent champ two years running, meeting or exceeding this tough challenge without breaking a sweat!
Nathan though... well, he tries.
